SieMatic presents the BeauxArts.02
The launch of the original BeauxArts collection in the Fall of 2006 was a milestone with SieMatic’s unconventional design interpretation of the classic kitchen. SieMatic established a new standard in the industry and revolutionized kitchen design with this design philosophy, which is now refined in the new SieMatic BeauxArts.02.
“We took the successful concept of the BeauxArts and expanded it into a lighter and more linear design,” states Mr. Ulrich W. Siekmann, CEO and owner of SieMatic Möbelwerke. “Our BeauxArts is simply the latest – it is a statement of personal style and invites the integration of both elegant kitchen cabinetry and heirloom furniture.”
The world premiere of the BeauxArts.02 will be held at the SieMatic-Studio am Neumarkt in Cologne, Germany, and will coincide with the “Passagen 2011” and “imm Cologne 2011” furniture exhibitions.
The Chicago designer, Mick De Giulio, with whom SieMatic collaborated on the first BeauxArts collection, created new elements, materials, colors, door-styles, and proportions. These new elements lend a more linear and lighter appearance while special details add a unique elegance. The symmetry – the repetition of forms, colors and materials – make for an ensemble of placid balance. The philosophy of BeauxArts is characterized by the segmented functional areas – a complete departure of the traditional kitchen layout – which then influences the overall interior design.
BeauxArt.02 is available for order in October 2011.

SieMatic certified by the FSC.
Preserving forests: that is the goal of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), an independent, international, nonprofit organization. The basis for achieving this goal is the certification of forests and forest-based industries in accordance with uniform criteria, with the FSC giving equal weight to the economic, ecological, and social requirements upon the forest as a resource.
SieMatic was certified by the FSC in July 2010 and is the only brand-kitchen manufacturer to make an active contribution to the protection of our planet through this future-oriented procurement method. The certificate documents an attitude that is becoming an increasingly important aspect of consumer decision making.

KONST project featured in June 2010 Kitchen & Bath Design News, “Sustainable Cabinets Spur Sleek Kitchen Design”
“This project came to the KONST SieMatic showroom through word-of-mouth referral because of his [owner Jonas Carnemark, CR, CKD] work with SieMatic, the German maker of frameless veneer kitchens. CARNEMARK cites the SieMatic cabinetry as an important green element of the design, noting that its veneers are made of wood harvested from sustainable managed forests, and the cabinets exceed the U.S. Green Building Council’s established standards for LEED certification.”

In 1960, SieMatic presented the world's first handle-free kitchen. Now SieMatic has reinvented it: SieMatic S2.
KONST mentioned in Elle DÉCOR “Rational Exuberance” article.
“A SieMatic kitchen sets the tone for the room…”
KONST SieMatic excerpt:
“For the McGeehins' "kitchen as laboratory," Dixon chose SieMatic's SC 19 system (SieMatic.com); he lauds the German precision and patented mechanisms that create, says kitchen designer Jonas Carnemark of Konst, "30 percent more storage." (Roseann loves the self-closing drawers because "my husband has a tendency not to close them.") But Dixon injected variety with finishes and materials to avoid visual sterility. "The larger the kitchen," he notes, "the more you need to mix." So he paired industrial and natural materials (stainless steel against polished granite; lacquered and sandblasted glass cabinet doors against cerused imbuya wood chairs and cabinetry) as well as masculine and feminine characteristics (grays and coffee browns against blues and greens). In some cases, he double-mixed within these pairings, turning them on their ear. The kitchen island juxtaposes a "masculine" industrial material and shape (rectangular manufactured stone) in a "feminine" color (white) with a "feminine" material and shape (curvy stone) in a "masculine" color (black).

The top 50 regional winners in the Kitchen Design Contest from around the world received a cash prize and a trip for two to the awards event at The Breakers, Palm Beach, FL, March 24-28. At a gala celebration that week in Florida, the top five national winners were selected and more than $115,000 in cash prize money was distributed.
The contest was developed by Sub-Zero and Wolf as a way of recognizing the kitchen design professional and the critical role they play in making beautiful kitchens happen. The contest is held every two years and is only open to design professionals and not consumers. Contestants first competed at the local (regional) level for the incentive trip and cash prize. The national winners were selected from the regional winners.

Streamlined Kitchen Designs: KONST SieMatic featured in this week’s 2modern "design talk" blog.
The SieMatic S2 Kitchen is streamlined and sophisticated. All of the extras are creatively hidden within this minimalist kitchen. Cabinets designed to appear flush with the wall are sleek and unobtrusive . I love the high gloss doors as a contrast to the matt walls and counter finish. The lighting is neatly tucked into the ceiling using a specialty track system that allows the light to "graze" the cabinet fronts while remaining slightly hidden.
