When SieMatic approached Jonas Carnemark about opening a showroom for the DC metropolitan area, he didn’t hesitate. As owner of CARNEMARK systems+design, inc., he’d been specifying the contemporary cabinetry for his remodeling clients for more than a decade. He was eager to bring the SieMatic story to a larger audience.

In 2003, KONST opened its doors to help designers, architects, and homeowners implement SieMatic’s clean, timeless design. The name KONST—which means “art” in Swedish—came naturally, too. Carnemark’s grandfather owned a modernist gallery in Sweden, where the Bethesda, MD-based designer was born.

A commitment to making a space both useful and joyful for every client earns Carnemark top honors in design competitions and rave reviews from homeowners. His work has led to appearances ranging from Good Morning America and the Food Network’s Ultimate Kitchens to national keynotes on sustainability in design.

But most important to Carnemark is the KONST team and its ability to listen responsively and get to the heart of what his clients value: a streamlined process that helps architects and designers specify SieMatic to create practical solutions that achieve flawless function and flow.
